In Southern California right now winter crops are coming on strong. Yes, we do have seasons in California! And we are fortunate to have several planting seasons all year long. Which doesn’t mean the rest of the country can’t grow vegetables and flowers just because it is blanketed with beautiful snow. It just means that the methods are a bit different – hoops covers and greenhouse growing for winter veggies, such as kale, chard and mustard greens…radishes, too! We here in So Cal are growing the same winter veggies, though now is our meyer lemon season…yeah! So much more. Grow parsley, lettuce and arugula on your warm and sunny kitchen windowsill — even in New York City. You’ll be surprised as how easy and fun it is. And most of all delicious.
